Manchester, 14 April (H.S.):
Leeds United produced a famous 2-1 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford on Monday night, claiming their first league win at the stadium in 45 years and delivering one of the Premier League’s biggest surprises of the season.
Noah Okafor was the decisive figure, scoring twice inside the opening 30 minutes to put Leeds in command. Manchester United’s hopes were dented further when Lisandro Martínez was sent off in the 56th minute after a VAR review for pulling Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s hair.
Casemiro pulled one back in the 69th minute with a header from a Bruno Fernandes cross, but Leeds held firm under late pressure to secure all three points.
The result lifted Leeds six points clear of the relegation zone, while Manchester United remained third on 55 points.
