Hyderabad, 14 April (H.S.):
In the Indian Premier League 2026, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) delivered a stellar performance to crush Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 57 runs on Monday, snapping their winning momentum. The match heroes were debutant bowlers Prafull Hinge and Saqib Hussain, who together claimed 8 wickets.
Played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, SRH batted first and posted a formidable 216/6 in 20 overs. Ishan Kishan smashed a brilliant 91, while Heinrich Klaasen contributed 40 runs.
Chasing the target, Rajasthan's innings crumbled disastrously from the outset.
In the very first over, Prafull Hinge scripted history by snaring three wickets, shattering RR's backbone by dismissing Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Dhruv Jurel, and Lhuan-Dre Pretorius.
Captain Riyan Parag soon fell to Hinge as well. From the other end, Saqib Hussain shone brightly, claiming four wickets including Yashasvi Jaiswal.
At one point, Rajasthan slumped to 9/5. Donovan Ferreira (69) and Ravindra Jadeja (45) mounted a 118-run partnership to steady the ship, but it fell short of victory.
Ultimately, Rajasthan folded for 159 in 19 overs. For SRH, Hinge returned stellar figures of 4/34, and Saqib 4/24.
This victory marked SRH's second win in five matches, propelling them to fourth in the points table, while RR's streak of consecutive triumphs came to a grinding halt.
