Hooghly, 12 April (H.S.): The Trinamool Congress (TMC) has intensified its election campaign in the Uttarpara Assembly constituency, with party MP Kalyan Banerjee unveiling the party’s election manifesto on Sunday.

The manifesto highlights key commitments, including the preservation and development of Abanindranath Tagore’s garden house in Konnagar. It also promises modernization of Nagendranath Kundu Vidyamandir, with plans to introduce both English and Bengali medium education under the West Bengal Board.

The TMC has pledged to set up a nursing training center in Kotrung using vacant municipal land. Reviving the industrial framework of Hindmotor to generate local employment opportunities is also a major focus.

The party has promised to upgrade Rajbari Hospital into a trauma care center and improve overall healthcare services. Additionally, comprehensive development of all hospitals in the region has been assured.

Development

Plans include developing and maintaining more playgrounds across Konnagar, Uttarpara town, and nearby rural areas. The manifesto also emphasizes road repairs and overall civic infrastructure improvement.

A new transport connectivity initiative between Konnagar and Kolkata has also been proposed to ease commuting for residents.

The event was attended by MP Kalyan Banerjee, his son and TMC candidate from Uttarpara, Shirshanya Banerjee, along with a large number of party leaders and workers.
