Born on September 8, 1933, in Sangli, Maharashtra, to a musically inclined family, Asha Bhosle debuted as a playback singer in 1943 with the Marathi film Majha Bal. Among the most influential vocalists, she recorded over 12,000 songs, delivering timeless hits like Piya Tu Ab To Aaja, Chura Liya Hai Tumne, Dum Maro Dum, In Aankhon Ki Masti Ke, and Do Lafzon Ki Hai Dil Ki Kahani. In 2000, she received the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award and was later conferred the Padma Vibhushan.
