Guwahati, 11 April (HS): Three persons, including a fake journalist and a leader of an organisation, were apprehended by city police for allegedly demanding money at a hotel in the Boragaon area of the metropolis.

According to police sources, the trio was caught while attempting to extort money from a hotel in Boragaon. Acting on specific inputs, the police laid a trap and arrested all three accused on the spot.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused had earlier collected ₹20,000 from the same establishment in two instalments. Police suspect that the group had been involved in similar extortion activities. Further investigation is underway.-----------
