Pudukottai,11 April (H.S.):

With the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections fast approaching, Chief Minister M. K. Stalin on Saturday intensified his campaign in Pudukottai district, expressing strong confidence in a sweeping victory for the DMK-led alliance.

Tamil Nadu will go to the polls on April 23, with counting scheduled for May 4, as political parties enter the final phase of high-pitched campaigning. Leaders across parties are actively touring constituencies, holding rallies and roadshows to consolidate voter support ahead of polling day.

Launching his day’s campaign in Iluppur, Stalin took part in a morning walk, during which he interacted with local residents, traders and party workers. The informal outreach drew large crowds, with people gathering to greet the Chief Minister and voice local concerns, turning the walk into a vibrant political engagement.

Stalin later campaigned for DMK candidate Chellapandian, urging voters to back the ruling alliance. Highlighting his government’s welfare schemes, development projects and administrative performance, he positioned them as key reasons for seeking a renewed mandate.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from party cadres and supporters, reflecting the strategic importance of Pudukottai in the DMK’s electoral calculations. Senior local leaders also joined the campaign, reinforcing the party’s grassroots mobilisation.

Speaking to mediapersons, Stalin struck a confident tone, asserting that the DMK alliance would secure a landslide victory. “No matter what others do, the victory of the DMK alliance cannot be stopped. We will win all 234 constituencies,” he said.

The election is shaping up as a multi-cornered contest, with the DMK-led alliance facing the AIADMK-BJP combine, actor Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, and Seeman’s Naam Tamilar Katchi.

With less than two weeks left for polling, campaign intensity is expected to peak as parties make their final push to sway undecided voters.
