India's domestic precious metals markets opened lower on Friday, with gold registering declines of up to ₹2,360 per 10 grams compared to Thursday's early trades, while silver weakened by as much as ₹5,200 per kilogram.
This downturn has pegged 24-carat gold trading between ₹1,51,470 and ₹1,52,720 per 10 grams across major centers, with 22-carat variants quoted from ₹1,38,840 to ₹1,39,990 per 10 grams. Silver, meanwhile, is changing hands at ₹2,54,900 per kilogram in the national capital's bullion hub.
In Delhi, 24-carat gold stood at ₹1,51,620 per 10 grams, alongside 22-carat at ₹1,38,990. Mumbai mirrored this trend with 24-carat at ₹1,51,470 and 22-carat at ₹1,38,840 per 10 grams. Ahmedabad reported 24-carat at ₹1,51,520 and 22-carat at ₹1,38,890, while Chennai saw the upper end at ₹1,52,720 for 24-carat and ₹1,39,990 for 22-carat.
Kolkata and Bengaluru aligned at ₹1,51,470 for 24-carat and ₹1,38,840 for 22-carat, with Bhopal, Patna, Lucknow, and Jaipur hovering around ₹1,51,520–₹1,51,620 for 24-carat and ₹1,38,890–₹1,38,990 for 22-carat. Southern hubs like Hyderabad and Bhubaneswar echoed Bengaluru's levels.
The softening reflects broader global cues, including eased geopolitical tensions and a stronger U.S. dollar, tempering safe-haven demand amid anticipation of domestic economic indicators.
