Mumbai, 01 April (H.S.):

Quick‑commerce platform Blinkit has launched the country’s first in‑terminal quick commerce service at a major airport terminal, partnering with Adani Airports Holdings Limited (AAHL) to roll out the facility at Terminal 2 of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA), Mumbai. The service is also being billed as the first such quick‑delivery setup inside an airport terminal anywhere in the world, marking a significant step in airport‑retail and passenger‑experience innovation.

2,500+ Products Delivered Inside the Terminal

Through this new offering, passengers at Terminal 2 can order over 2,500 products via the Blinkit app and have them delivered directly to their location inside the terminal. The curated range includes everyday essentials such as mobile phone chargers, books, gift items, snacks, bottled water, travel accessories and other travel‑relevant consumables, helping travellers address last‑minute needs without leaving the secure area.

Blinkit has said that this is the first time in the world that a speed‑delivery service of this kind has been introduced inside an airport terminal, combining the convenience of quick commerce with the tightly controlled environment of an aviation facility. Passengers can choose drop‑points such as boarding gates, lounges, food courts and select partner outlets, and deliveries are handled by dedicated ground‑staff to avoid disrupting check‑in or security timelines.

Seamless, On‑Time Convenience for Travelers

The company emphasized that the service enhances accessibility and affordability in airport retail by giving passengers more choice without the usual constraints of time and space. Instead of rushing to duty‑free or convenience stores, travellers can now order items in minutes and have them delivered right before their flight, including essentials like a forgotten charger, a quick snack or an extra bottle of water.

For stressed or time‑crunched departures, the feature effectively turns “one missed item” into a simple tap on a smartphone, reducing panic and improving overall travel‑experience metrics. With CSMIA being one of India’s busiest international gateways, Blinkit and AAHL view the launch as a pilot model that could be scaled to other airport terminals and replicated in other major hubs across the country.
