New Delhi, 06 March (H.S.):

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal stated on Friday that the government will employ every policy measure and support mechanism to assist domestic exporters in navigating the ongoing West Asia crisis.

Speaking to reporters at Bharat Mandapam during the IIFT Vice Chancellor Conclave 2026, Goyal announced the formation of an inter-ministerial group to monitor issues daily. He affirmed, The government will utilize every policy measure and export promotion mission to support our exporters.

Goyal elaborated that certain facilitative approaches will be formalized, with the group engaging exporters daily to gather feedback and ensure unwavering assistance. He assured that India will honor all commitments and contracts made by its industries with foreign buyers, regardless of circumstances.

Addressing concerns over rising freight costs, Goyal revealed ongoing collaboration with the Shipping Ministry and shipping companies to alleviate burdens on exporters. Earlier, addressing the conclave, he highlighted education's vast potential as a service export, enhancing India's earnings and delivering high-quality Indian education globally.

Notably, following joint US-Israel strikes on Iran, exporters face disruptions in West Asia shipments, prompting these proactive measures.
