
Tehran, 06 March (H.S.): Amid ongoing military tensions in West Asia, Iran has attacked several facilities, including an Amazon data center in Bahrain and sites in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Amazon Web Services (AWS) has confirmed the strikes.Turkey's state news agency Anadolu Agency, citing Iran's official Fars News Agency, reported that Iran's IRGC conducted a drone attack on Amazon's data center in Bahrain.
Another media report indicated strikes on two hotels and a residential building in the capital Manama. Bahrain's Home Ministry stated that the attacks caused material damage but no loss of life.
Notably, Amazon is an American multinational technology company operating in e-commerce, cloud computing, online advertising, digital streaming, and artificial intelligence.Fars reported the strike targeted Amazon's facility center in Bahrain, part of a series of recent Iranian operations against Amazon's Dubai data center and other strategic regional sites.
Meanwhile, AWS stated that two of its facilities in the UAE suffered direct strikes, while a Bahrain facility sustained significant infrastructure damage from a nearby drone attack. The attacks caused structural damage, power disruptions, and in some cases required fire suppression efforts leading to additional water damage.
