
Delhi, 04 March (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi warmly welcomed Finland's President Alexander Stubb on Wednesday as he arrived for a state visit, expressing confidence that the trip will elevate bilateral relations to unprecedented levels.
The Prime Minister's Office stated that President Stubb landed in New Delhi this morning, receiving a formal airport reception from Minister of State for External Affairs K.V. Singh, complete with a guard of honour.
PM Modi affirmed that India-Finland ties will reach new summits during this engagement.In a post on X, Modi wrote: Welcome to India, President Alexander Stubb. I fully agree that your visit will take India-Finland relations to new heights. Eagerly looking forward to our meeting tomorrow and your keynote at ‘Raisina Dialogue 2026’.
This came in response to Stubb's own post announcing his state visit to India.
Earlier, President Stubb shared on X: I will meet President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and other key leaders. This journey will further strengthen India-Finland relations, including in trade. He is set to serve as chief guest and keynote speaker at Raisina Dialogue 2026, followed by bilateral talks with Modi on strengthening ties, regional issues, and global concerns.
