Islamabad, 31 March (H.S.):

The Islamabad High Court has restored the interim bail of Pakistan’s well‑known dermatologist and celebrity aesthetic doctor Dr Fazeela Abbasi in a money‑laundering case, ordering her release on a bail bond of 100,000 Pakistani rupees and directing her to appear before the trial court for further proceedings. The bench, headed by Justice Muhammad Azam Khan, passed the order after hearing arguments from both sides.

Court restores interim bail

During the hearing, Dr Fazeela Abbasi appeared before the court accompanied by her lawyer, Naem Bukhari, as widely reported by World News and local media. The attorney argued that his client had already appeared before the court three times, and on one occasion had submitted a medical certificate for three days to explain her absence; even so, the lower court had cancelled her interim bail.

After considering the submissions, the high‑court bench reinstated her interim bail, stressing that the matter must now proceed before the trial court. The court also instructed Abbasi to attend future hearings regularly, warning that any further failure to comply could lead to stricter action.

Allegations of financial irregularities

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had registered a money‑laundering case against Dr Fazeela Abbas, alleging that around 25 billion Pakistani rupees had flowed through roughly 22 bank accounts linked to her, while her declared annual income remained between 400,000 and 600,000 rupees.

Authorities allege that the scale of financial transactions does not match the declared earnings, triggering scrutiny under anti‑money‑laundering laws.

In her defence, Abbasi and her legal team have maintained that the accounts in question are being properly explained in the trial court and that the transactions are legitimately tied to her medical practice and business operations. The case continues to draw public attention because of her prominent profile and high‑profile clientele.

Profile of a celebrity dermatologist

Dr Fazeela Abbasi is one of Pakistan’s most recognised dermatologists and aesthetic‑medicine specialists, credited with popularising laser treatments and advanced cosmetic procedures such as dermal fillers in the country. She runs her own clinic under the name “Dr Fazeela Abbasi Skin and Laser Institute” in Islamabad, and also practices at the “EuroMed Clinic” in Dubai, splitting her professional base between the two cities.

In the Pakistani media and public eye, she is often described as a “celebrity dermatologist,” treating a long list of well‑known film stars, anchors and politicians. Her work has helped normalise medical‑aesthetics and laser‑based therapies among urban clientele, even as her sudden legal troubles have brought fresh scrutiny to the financial transparency of high‑profile private‑practice doctors.

Meanwhile, actor Humza Ali Abbasi, her brother, has publicly clarified that he is not involved in her legal case, distancing himself from the allegations and the court process surrounding his sister’s finances.
