New Delhi, 31 March (H.S.):
Spot silver opened flat in domestic bullion markets today but slipped ₹300-400 per kg by afternoon, trading between ₹2,44,400 and ₹2,55,100 per kg across major centers.
In Delhi, silver fell ₹300 to ₹2,44,600/kg; Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and Kolkata saw ₹300 drops to ₹2,44,400/kg; Jaipur, Surat, and Pune held at ₹2,44,700/kg. Bengaluru declined ₹400 to ₹2,44,900/kg; Patna and Bhubaneswar ₹300 to ₹2,44,500/kg; Hyderabad ₹400 to ₹2,55,000/kg; highest in Chennai at ₹2,55,100/kg after ₹300 dip.
Bullion expert Mayank Mohan attributes the weakness to slumping industrial demand from West Asia conflicts, reversing January's supply shortages that pushed prices to ₹4 lakh/kg. Ample global supply has erased over ₹1.5 lakh/kg from all-time highs. Mohan advises small investors caution to avoid losses.
