
Guwahati, 27 March (HS): Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to visit Assam on March 28 to campaign for BJP candidates ahead of the Assembly elections, with a grand roadshow scheduled in Guwahati.
According to the state BJP headquarters, Shah will campaign in support of party nominees and alliance candidates across five Assembly constituencies in Kamrup (Metro) district. As part of his visit, he will participate in a public rally and a large-scale roadshow.
The rally will be held in the evening at the Arya Mahavidyalaya playground. Following this, Shah will lead a roadshow from Arya area to Lalganesh, aiming to mobilise voter support in the region.
On March 29, the Union Home Minister will continue his campaign in other parts of the state, addressing election rallies in Dhekiajuli and Tihu.
Senior BJP leaders, including Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, along with party officials and alliance partners, are expected to accompany him during the campaign events and address voters.
The BJP has intensified preparations for the visit of its star campaigner, with extensive arrangements underway. Notably, the party has fielded around 40 star campaigners, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for the ongoing election campaign in Assam.-----------
