23 March (HS): On World Tuberculosis Day, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi
Adityanath restated his commitment to making the state TB-free, in line with
national targets. He emphasized the adoption of 2.70 lakh TB patients, with 70%
cured, and the provision of approximately Rs. 422 crore in nutritional help
through DBT. Yogi added that UP, which formerly had 21% of India's tuberculosis
sufferers, is working relentlessly to eradicate the disease five years ahead of
global SDG objectives. To guarantee medication compliance and assistance,
officials and volunteers adopted more than 2.70 lakh patients. In the previous
five years, DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) has provided financial assistance of
Rs. 422 crore. PM Ayushman Wellness Centers provide a special emphasis on
testing and diagnostics. The Uttar Pradesh administration, led by Yogi
Adityanath, is transforming tuberculosis treatment into a public effort to
achieve a healthy 25 crore people.
He penned
a post on X, which reads as follows: “Under the visionary leadership of Respected
Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi, the double-engine government is working with
complete dedication towards eradicating tuberculosis. Let us pledge today, on
the occasion of World Tuberculosis Day, to strengthen the foundation of a
'Healthy India, Healthy Uttar Pradesh' by making timely identification of the
symptoms of this disease and proper treatment a mass movement.”
