New Delhi, 23 March (H.S.):
Sikkim Krantikari Morcha Lok Sabha MP Dr Indra Hang Subba congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday for becoming the longest-serving head of government in independent India's history, clocking 8,931 days in public office.
Speaking in Lok Sabha, Subba noted Modi took oath as Gujarat Chief Minister on October 7, 2001 – marking 8,931 days as CM and PM combined. This eclipses former Sikkim CM Pawan Kumar Chamling's 8,930-day record.
Subba extended felicitations on behalf of Sikkim CM Prem Singh Tamang, the state's people and all colleagues for the historic feat.
