New Delhi, 23 March (H.S.):
The Delhi Legislative Assembly launched its budget session Monday, with Chief Minister and Finance Minister Rekha Gupta presenting the Economic Survey (2025-26) to open proceedings.
Pre-session festivities featured the traditional kheer ceremony in the assembly complex, where Gupta personally served kheer to ministers, MLAs and students. Cabinet ministers Parvesh Sahib Singh, Ashish Sood, Manjinder Singh Sirsa and Kapil Mishra joined the occasion.
Gupta called this the government's second budget for 2026-27 – one that will accelerate Delhi's growth and lift citizens' living standards while steering all-round capital development.
Earlier, Gupta paid floral tribute on Shaheed Diwas to statues of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru in the assembly grounds. Their courage sacrifice and patriotism will forever inspire generations, she said.
