New Delhi, 23 March (H.S.):

The Delhi Assembly's budget session got underway on Monday with the traditional 'kheer ceremony'. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta reiterated her commitment to a 'Developed Delhi, Green Delhi', declaring that this budget will prove a pivotal step in realizing the dreams of the capital's nearly 3 crore residents.

She emphasized that the 'kheer ceremony' is more than just a ritual kickoff to the budget process—it's a powerful symbol of prosperity, auspiciousness, and dedication to public welfare, all of which will shine through in the upcoming budget.

Joining the Chief Minister in the ceremony were farmers, school students, teachers, doctors, members of the transgender community, women drivers, and media professionals. Farmers honored her in time-tested style by presenting a traditional turban.

Cabinet ministers Parvesh Sahib Singh, Ashish Sood, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Ravindra Indraj Singh, and Kapil Mishra were among the MLAs present for the occasion.

The Chief Minister stated that this, her government's second budget, will accelerate Delhi's development trajectory. Beyond bolstering infrastructure, it will elevate the quality of life for Delhiites. The budget charts a course toward a city where citizens enjoy top-tier healthcare, excellent education, robust infrastructure, and a clean, green environment.

Priorities include enhanced facilities for students, stronger health infrastructure, sanitation drives, pollution control, and green initiatives.

Rekha Gupta stressed that 'Developed Delhi, Green Delhi' is no mere slogan—it's the government's clear vision for fostering a positive, secure, and prosperous milieu where ordinary people can live with joy and contentment.

Thanking Delhi's people for their blessings and trust, the Chief Minister affirmed that the government remains devoted to 24/7 public service, working every day to make the capital even better.
