
Bhubaneswar, 23 March (H.S.): Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday informed the Odisha Legislative Assembly that cybercrime cases in the state have been steadily increasing over the past three years.
Responding to a query by MLA Amar Kumar Nayak, the Chief Minister said that 2,348 cybercrime cases were registered in the state in 2023. The number rose to 2,501 cases in 2024, indicating a growing trend in cyber-related offences.
The rise continued in 2025, with 2,803 cybercrime cases reported so far, underscoring increasing concerns over cyber security in the state.
Majhi further informed the House that the state government has taken several steps to tackle cybercrime, including the establishment of 34 cybercrime police stations across Odisha. He added that awareness campaigns are also being conducted to educate the public and strengthen preventive measures against online fraud and other cyber offences.
