
New Delhi, 20 March (H.S.): Indian equities kicked off Friday with gusto reversing Thursdays 3.26 percent drubbing as Sensex and Nifty powered into positive territory fueled by eager buyers despite intermittent profit taking.
At 10 am Sensex stood tall 830.44 points or 1.12 percent higher at 75037.68 having opened at 74559.38 up 352.14 and touched 75204.64 in the first 20 minutes while Nifty gained 245.20 points or 1.07 percent to 23247.35 from 23110.15 opening up 108 peaking near 23319.70 by 9:30 am.
Top gainers among bluechips Tata Steel State Bank of India Coal India JSW Steel and Tech Mahindra rose 2.69 to 4.17 percent whereas HDFC Bank Shriram Finance HDFC Life SBI Life and Bajaj Finance dipped 0.06 to 1.33 percent.
Out of 2667 active stocks 2375 traded green 292 red Sensex had 28 of 30 up two down Nifty 44 of 50 gainers six losers after Thursdays carnage Sensex closed down 2496.89 at 74207.24 Nifty off 775.65 at 23002.15 the worst in 21 months.
