Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a telephonic conversation on Friday with Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, discussing the prevailing situation in West Asia and strongly condemning attacks on energy infrastructure and civilian facilities.
In a post on the social media platform X, Prime Minister Modi shared that he extended Eid al-Fitr greetings to the King and conveyed his best wishes to the people of Bahrain.
The two leaders exchanged views on the current circumstances in West Asia. They denounced assaults on energy assets and civilian infrastructure, noting that such actions are adversely impacting global food, fuel, and fertilizer security.
During the call, they also reiterated the critical importance of ensuring freedom of navigation along maritime routes and keeping shipping lanes secure and open.
The Prime Minister expressed gratitude to the King for his continued support toward the welfare of the Indian community in Bahrain.
