Sribhumi (Assam), 18 March (HS): A power department worker lost his life after coming into contact with a live electric line while working atop an electric pole in Sribhumi district town on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Laxman Chakravarty, who was reportedly carrying out maintenance work when the incident occurred. Following the accident, he was immediately rushed to Sribhumi Civil Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.

Family members of the deceased stated that they would not accept the body until concerned departmental officials reach the spot. Meanwhile, uncertainty prevails over who transported the body to Karimganj Sadar Hospital, as no clear information has emerged in this regard.

Police from Sribhumi have reached the spot and initiated an investigation into the incident.--------
