Mainpuri, 18
March (HS): Last night, a woman and two children died after a mud wall and the
tin shed on it collapsed in Mainpuri district of Uttar Pradesh. Three people
were seriously injured and are undergoing treatment. On Tuesday post-midnight,
the mud wall and tin shed of the house of Brajesh (50), son of Lal Singh,
suddenly collapsed in the village Ath Pura under the police station area of
Kurawali in Mainpuri. Brijesh, Brijesh's wife and four small children were
sleeping under the three sheds. The family, who were sleeping in deep sleep,
did not get a chance to recover due to the sudden collapse of the mud wall and
three sheds, due to which Ruby (40), wife of Brajesh, Dilip (08), son of
Brajesh, Devi (13), daughter of Brajesh died on the spot after being buried
under the wall and tin shed. On hearing the screams, villagers and neighbours
reached Brijesh's house and informed the police.
Brajesh,
Gudiya (15), and Pallavi (5), daughters of Brajesh, were injured. Upon
receiving information, police arrived at the scene, sent the deceased to the
post-mortem house, and all the injured to the district hospital for treatment.
Police are currently taking legal action.
The
village is deeply saddened by the simultaneous deaths of three members of the
same family. Neighbors of the victims' families reported that Brijesh's house
had a tin shed built over an old mud wall. To reinforce this wall, a foundation
was dug near the mud wall, which was filled with water. It is believed that the
wall collapsed due to the dampness of this water.
Inspector
Kurauli Lalit Bhati said that a woman and her two children of the same family
died after being buried under a wall. The bodies of the deceased have been sent
to the mortuary for post-mortem. The injured have been admitted to the hospital
where they are undergoing treatment.
