Tehran, 16 March (H.S.): On the 17th day of the U.S.-Israel-Iran war, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) deployed the Sejil ballistic missile against Israel for the first time, targeting military and defense installations, as reported by Tasnim news agency. The solid-fuel Sejil, capable of striking up to 2,000-2,500 kilometers, marked a tactical debut since hostilities erupted on February 28 with U.S.-Israeli strikes devastating Iranian military and civilian sites.
IRGC statements detailed its use alongside other missiles in coordinated barrages, underscoring Tehran's resolve amid widespread infrastructure damage.Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi asserted in a CBS interview that Iran has neither sought a ceasefire nor offered talks with the U.S., vowing sustained self-defense.
He rebuked President Donald Trump to acknowledge the war's injustice, warning of continued retaliation, while noting nuclear materials buried underground post-strikes—out of reach with no immediate recovery plans—despite prior willingness to curtail highly enriched stockpiles.
