Brussels, 16 March (H.S.): India's External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar held a pivotal meeting here with his Cypriot counterpart, Constantinos Kombos, to bolster bilateral strategic ties and exchange perspectives on West Asia's evolving dynamics.
Posting a photo on X, Jaishankar expressed delight at the encounter, noting discussions on deepening their strategic partnership and Cyprus's valued role in advancing India-EU connectivity.
This engagement marks a key highlight of Jaishankar's two-day visit to Brussels, launched Sunday for talks with EU member states' foreign ministers—the first high-level Indian trip post the landmark January free trade agreement (FTA) ratification between India and the 27-nation bloc, headquartered here.
Invited by European Commission Vice-President Kaja Kallas, Jaishankar will further engage the EU President, Belgium's foreign minister, and counterparts from other member states, as confirmed by India's Ministry of External Affairs.
