New Delhi, 01 March (H.S.): Indian badminton ace PV Sindhu and her team have been relocated to a secure spot following a powerful explosion near Dubai International Airport, where they were stranded amid escalating US-Israel-Iran tensions that suspended flights indefinitely.
The two-time Olympic medalist was en route to the prestigious All England Open when regional chaos forced her layover. Airspace closures stranded passengers, with Sindhu's group caught in the thick of it as Iranian Revolutionary Guards retaliated against US-Israel strikes with drone and missile attacks targeting Israel, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Qatar bases.
On social media, Sindhu shared: The situation worsens hourly. A massive blast rocked right near our airport spot moments ago—my coach fled thick smoke and debris. Terrifying for us all. She added they're now safe, aided by airport staff, local authorities, and the Indian Consulate in Dubai, awaiting normalcy.
Airlines like Emirates and Air India face widespread disruptions from the Gulf shutdowns.
