New Delhi, 01 March (H.S.): Drawing inspiration from the Centre's 'One Nation, One Card' initiative, the Rekha Gupta-led Delhi government is rolling out the National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) tailored for women residents, with President Droupadi Murmu set to launch the Pink Card variant on Monday, March 2.

The flagship rollout headlines the grand 'Sashakt Nari Samriddh Delhi' (Empowered Women, Prosperous Delhi) event at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced that the Pink Card will grant Delhi women free travel on DTC buses, alongside paid seamless access to metro, Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS), and other public transport via a single smart card. This step aims to make commuting more accessible, secure, and digital, slashing daily travel costs while boosting access to education, jobs, healthcare, and social opportunities.

Three-Tier Card System Rolls Out

In a Sunday release, Gupta detailed three NCMC variants: Pink Cards for eligible women residents (free DTC rides, government-funded), Blue Cards for general passengers, and Orange Cards for monthly pass users.

Initial phases prioritize Pink and Blue launches, with DTC authorizing Hinden Merchantile Ltd. (MufinPay) and Airtel Payments Bank Ltd. for issuance. These integrate with the existing Automatic Fare Collection System (AFCS), replacing pink paper tickets with touch-free, secure tech for precise digital tracking, reduced cash use, and data-driven route optimization.

Easy Access at 50+ Centers

Around 50 issuance centers—including DM/SDM offices and select DTC depots—will facilitate applications with minimal documents for speed and transparency. Each Pink Card links to the user's mobile and Aadhaar, verifying age (over 5), gender (female), and Delhi residency via PIN code to curb duplication.

Gupta emphasized this digital pivot enhances accountability, efficiency, and women's mobility in the capital.
