New Delhi, 01 March (H.S.): India's gross Goods and Services Tax (GST) collections climbed 8.1% year-on-year to over ₹1.83 lakh crore in February, driven largely by robust import revenues, official data showed Sunday.This marked an uptick from January's ₹1.71 lakh crore and last February's ₹1.69 lakh crore. Breakdown included Central GST at ₹37,473 crore, State GST at ₹45,900 crore, and Integrated GST at ₹1,00,236 crore.Net GST revenue exceeded ₹1.61 lakh crore, up 7.9% annually, with net cess at ₹5,063 crore—down from ₹13,481 crore last year.

Refunds totaled ₹22,595 crore, reflecting a 10.2% rise.For FY 2025-26 (April 1, 2025, to February 1, 2026), cumulative collections hit ₹20,27,033 crore, a 8.3% increase over the prior year's ₹18,71,670 crore. Top contributors were Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka; Ladakh, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Manipur lagged.
