New Delhi, 28 February (H.S.): The Ministry of Civil Aviation conducted a comprehensive review of aviation preparedness on Saturday in response to rapidly deteriorating conditions in the Middle East and their potential impact on international flights.

Civil Aviation Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu chaired a video conference with senior Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) officials and all relevant stakeholders to assess preparations and mitigation measures. The meeting addressed evolving regional tensions and their implications for global aviation operations.

Airlines were instructed to proactively inform passengers about delays, route changes, or diversions to minimize inconvenience. The ministry emphasized that passenger and crew safety remains the top priority, with MoCA closely monitoring the situation to ensure safe, orderly, and efficient air operations.

Travelers are urged to check with their airlines for the latest updates before heading to the airport. This step safeguards Indian aviation services amid regional unrest, focusing on safety, operational continuity, and real-time coordination given multiple airspace restrictions and Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) in affected areas.

The review included the MoCA Secretary, other senior ministry officials, Airports Authority of India (AAI), Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), airline operators, and major airport operators nationwide.
