27 Feb (HS): The Uttar Pradesh State Commission for Backward Classes met on

Friday under the chairmanship of the commission's chairman, Rajesh Verma.

Vice-Chairman Sohan Lal Shrimali and commission members were present. The

meeting discussed in detail various issues related to the upliftment and

development of the Other Backward Classes (OBCs).

The

meeting reviewed the OBC welfare schemes implemented by the state government,

and emphasized ensuring that the benefits of the schemes effectively reach the

eligible communities. The Commission also discussed complaints received

regarding reservations for Other Backward Classes in employment and educational

institutions. Representations received regarding inclusion and exclusion of

castes were also discussed.

It

was decided at the meeting that a district-wise review would be conducted to

determine whether the Other Backward Classes (OBCs) were receiving 100% benefit

from various state government schemes. A consensus was reached on preparing a

detailed report in coordination with the relevant departments. The Commission

stated that the government is committed to the social, educational, and
