Chennai, 27 February (H.S.): India secured a commanding 72-run victory over Zimbabwe in their ICC T20 World Cup Super 8 clash on Thursday, posting 256 for four before restricting the opponents to 184 for six.

Captain Suryakumar Yadav expressed satisfaction with the team's fresh approach, crediting video analysts for a motivational slide reviewing past performances that instilled positivity. He highlighted contributions from the top order down to number seven, calling it a heartening sight after leaving behind league stage and prior match setbacks.

Yadav candidly acknowledged room for improvement in bowling, stating, If I'm honest, we could have been a bit more clinical with the ball. But a win is a win at the end of the day. He pledged to address shortcomings ahead of the West Indies showdown, refining strategy for greater impact.

Praising Zimbabwe's batsmen, the skipper noted their smart play on a good pitch, taking time in the powerplay before accelerating wisely, though India needed better options at key moments.

Looking ahead to the March 1 virtual knockout against West Indies in Kolkata, Yadav emphasized bolder decisions and positivity. The team plans rest tomorrow before strategizing upon arrival, aiming to sustain semifinal hopes.
