Self-reliant

youth, strong Uttar Pradesh, new initiative of Skill Development Mission

Lucknow,

27 Feb (HS): Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state

government is continuously taking steps to equip youth with skills suited to

future needs. In this regard, the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission has

signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) with six prestigious institutions to

connect youth with modern skills such as soft skills, performing arts, and

artificial intelligence, along with technical proficiency. This initiative was

undertaken under the direction of Kapil Dev Agarwal, Minister of State

(Independent Charge) for Vocational Education, Skill Development, and

Entrepreneurship.

The

non-financial MoU was signed at an event held at Mission Headquarters, Lucknow,

in the presence of Mission Director Pulkit Khare and Joint Director Mayank

Gangwar. The objective of this initiative is to empower youth beyond just

technical training, but also to equip them with communication skills,

self-confidence, creativity, and digital proficiency, enabling them to excel in

global competition.

The

Mission Director stated that this initiative is an important step toward making

the youth of Uttar Pradesh future-ready. The partnership with the

Bharatendu Natya Academy will provide youth with training in stage skills,

communication skills, and creative expression, opening up new opportunities for

arts-based employment. Meanwhile, online courses developed by Oracle, as its

digital learning partner, will be made available to trainees through the

Mission's website.

Under

the program, agreements have been signed with Bharatendu Natya Academy, Held

High Foundation, Magic Bus India Foundation, The Apprentice Project, Oracle,

and Raina Education Foundation. With the support of these organizations,

employment-oriented training will be provided to youth in various divisions of

the state. In Prayagraj and Varanasi divisions, special attention will be given

to English speaking, critical thinking, and problem-solving through the

Foundational Employability Skills program.

In

collaboration with The Apprentice Project, trainees in the Ayodhya

division will be introduced to AI and machine learning-based technologies.

Meanwhile, the Raina Education Foundation will work to bridge the gap between

education and employment through soft skills, hard skills, and

micro-internships.

A

Training of Trainers program will also be conducted in

collaboration with the Magic Bus India Foundation, equipping trainers with

skills in communication skills, personality development, and the fundamentals

of AI. This initiative, based on international standards, will be particularly

useful for young people who, despite possessing technical knowledge, lack soft

skills, often hinder employment opportunities.

The

state government believes that combining practical and digital skills with

technical proficiency will provide youth with new employment and

self-employment opportunities. This initiative by the Yogi government will

prove to be an important step towards empowering the state's youth to become

self-reliant and competitive at the national and global levels.
