
Guwahati, 27 February (HS): Dispur Police in Guwahati have arrested six youths, including the son of a retired Deputy Commissioner, for allegedly brandishing a pistol and creating a disturbance in the city.
According to police sources, the accused, identified as Vadik Modi, son of retired Deputy Commissioner Vibhas Modi, was seen roaming in the Ganeshguri area with a pistol along with his associates and allegedly creating chaos on the road. Acting on a complaint, a police team rushed to the spot and apprehended all six individuals, recovering the pistol from their possession.
The arrested accused have been identified as Vadik Modi, Diganta Haloi, Wasim Akhtar, Amit Bhaumik, Jitu Barman and Tanisha Sharma. Police have registered a case under the Arms Act and are conducting intensive interrogation of all the accused in connection with the incident.-----------
