New Delhi, 27 February (H.S.):
Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized Friday that national budgets demand evaluation through their embedded policy thrusts rather than immediate gains, positioning them as enduring strategic roadmaps over transient commercial ledgers.
Addressing a post-budget webinar on Technology, Reforms, and Finance for Viksit Bharat via video conference, he urged assessing efficacy via tangible metrics while viewing allocations as catalysts for infrastructural expansion, capital flows, governance transparency, ease of living, and opportunity creation.
India rides a Reform Express, he noted, requiring sustained focus on intent and outcomes.
PM Modi called for leveraging AI, blockchain, and data analytics to amplify transparency, efficiency, and accountability alongside vigilant grievance redressal monitoring. He exhorted industry to seize ballooning infrastructure outlays—from ₹2 lakh crore to over ₹12 lakh crore in 11 years—signaling private sector momentum.
Streamlining project approvals, prioritizing cost-benefit analyses and lifecycle expenses, while deepening bond markets for long-term growth, liquidity, novel instruments, and risk mitigation would attract foreign capital, he proposed.
All stakeholders must collaboratively harness these fiscal openings for superior results, the Prime Minister appealed.
