27 Feb (HS): In a rare and tense wildlife encounter, a leopard entered a house
in a densely populated area near the Ganga Temple in Harthala, in the Civil
Lines area of Moradabad district in Uttar Pradesh on Friday morning. The
people present in the house, exercising restraint, locked the leopard in the
bathroom and ran away to save their lives. The forest department team, along
with the police, reached the spot and sealed the entire house, and a team from
the Pilibhit Tiger Reserve rescued the leopard.
Harthala
resident Meghraj Prajapati said that everyone was sleeping in his house at 6
o'clock this morning. During this time, they felt some noise inside the house.
When they looked, a leopard was sitting in the bathroom. Without any delay, the
family closed the bathroom door from outside. After this, they raised alarm,
which alerted people nearby. On getting the information, the Forest Department
team and Thana Civil Lines team immediately reached the spot. After this, the
team sealed the entire house.

team was called from Pilibhit Tiger Reserve to rescue the leopard. The team
rescued the leopard. Forest Department Area Officer Girish Srivastava said that
the forest department team arrived at the scene as soon as the information was
received. After sealing the entire house, the leopard was rescued with great
care. The leopard will be tranquilized and released safely into the forest.
