New Delhi, 26 February (H.S.): Communications and Northeast Region Development Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia held talks with Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw at Rail Bhavan on Thursday, focusing on strengthening rail connectivity in Gwalior, Guna, the Chambal region, and Northeast India.

The Communications Ministry stated that discussions centered on adding stoppages for key trains in Chambal, launching new services, and advancing new rail line projects. Efforts to expedite pending rail expansion plans were also emphasized, with Scindia noting that enhanced connectivity would improve passenger convenience and spur regional trade, tourism, and industry.

Scindia underscored the need to bolster rail services in the Northeast, particularly in remote areas through better infrastructure. He affirmed that robust links there are vital for national integration and balanced growth.

The Modi government remains committed to connecting all regions with modern infrastructure, Scindia added, highlighting rail connectivity's pivotal role in achieving Viksit Bharat 2047.
