
Delhi, 26 February (H.S.): Industrialist and Reliance Group Chairman Anil Ambani, aged 66, appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday for a second round of questioning in an alleged bank fraud-linked money laundering case.Ambani arrived at the central Delhi headquarters around 10:30 a.m., summoned under the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA).
Officials confirmed his statement would be recorded under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002, tied to over ₹40,000 crore in loans involving group firm Reliance Communications (RCOM). He was first questioned in August 2025.Ambani and his companies face loan fraud allegations, prompting the ED—following Supreme Court directives—to form a Special Investigation Team (SIT).
The agency has registered three PMLA cases against the Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG) for bank fraud and financial irregularities.The day prior, on Wednesday, the ED provisionally attached Ambani's Mumbai residence 'Abode,' valued at ₹3,716 crore, under anti-money laundering laws.
