Amaravati, 26 February (HS): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday said the State government is working towards intra-linking of rivers within Andhra Pradesh, following advice from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Addressing the State Assembly, Naidu said the Prime Minister had emphasised that linking rivers within individual states would make eventual interlinking at the national level easier.
“When I spoke to the Prime Minister, he said intra-river linking, interlinking all the rivers in your State, then finally it will be easy to link at the national level. We are working with that spirit,” the Chief Minister said.
Naidu indicated that the State government is pursuing river-linking initiatives with a long-term perspective, aligning with broader national objectives on water resource management and irrigation development.
