
New Delhi, 25 February (H.S.): Domestic stock markets ended flat with modest gains on Wednesday, the third trading day of the week, buoyed by positive global cues despite intraday volatility.The BSE Sensex rose 50.15 points, or 0.061%, to settle at 82,276.07, having earlier surged 731.99 points to 82,957.91. The NSE Nifty climbed 57.85 points, or 0.23%, closing at 25,482.50.
Among Sensex constituents, HCL Tech, Tata Steel, TCS, Interglobe Aviation (IndiGo), Sun Pharma, Mahindra & Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, and Tech Mahindra advanced. Reliance Industries, State Bank of India, Adani Ports, and Eternal (Zomato) declined.
Asian markets like South Korea's Kospi, China's Shanghai Composite, Japan's Nikkei, and Hong Kong's Hang Seng closed higher, while European indices traded positively midday. Brent crude dipped 0.14% to $70.67 per barrel. The rupee held steady at 90.95 against the dollar provisionally.On Tuesday, the Sensex had plunged 1,068.74 points (1.28%) to 82,225.92, with Nifty falling 228.35 points (1.12%) to 25,424.65.
