Nagaon (Assam), 25 February (HS): Raijor Dal president Akhil Gogoi on Wednesday said that no alliance has yet been finalised between his party and the Congress, asserting that clarity must come soon as time is running out ahead of the elections.
Addressing reporters in Dhing, Gogoi said Raijor Dal is firm on its claim over 12 specific constituencies, including Dhing, Naoboicha, Barchala, Dispur and Dimow. “If we get the 12 seats we have sought, there can be an alliance; otherwise, there will be none,” he stated.
He further claimed that in Upper Assam, if Raijor Dal contests alone, the Congress would not be able to win even a single seat. Emphasising the party’s preparedness, Gogoi said Raijor Dal has strong candidates in all 24 minority-dominated constituencies.
Stressing the urgency of the matter, he urged the Congress to clearly state whether it intends to enter into an alliance or not, saying there is no more time for prolonged uncertainty.----------
