
New Delhi, 24 February (H.S.): Indian equities opened under heavy selling pressure today, with the BSE Sensex plunging 711.95 points or 0.85% to 82,582.71 and NSE Nifty50 shedding 194.45 points or 0.76% to 25,518.55 by 10 AM IST.
Tech heavyweights bore the brunt: HCL Tech cratered 3.91%, Eternal 3.5%, Infosys 3.2%, TCS 3%, and Tech Mahindra 2.85%. In contrast, ONGC (+0.42%), Coal India (+0.35%), SBI (+0.30%), Power Grid (+0.25%), and Hindalco (+0.17%) offered mild green amid broader red.
