Islamabad, 24 February (H.S.): PTI founder and ousted Prime Minister Imran Khan was transported before dawn from Adiala Jail to Islamabad's Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) for his second injection to restore vision in his afflicted right eye, diagnosed with central retinal vein occlusion (CRVO).

Doctors delivered the second of three prescribed anti-VEGF injections after prior visits on January 24-25; Khan remained at PIMS for about an hour, including cardiac evaluation (ECG and echocardiogram showing normal function), before returning to custody. The third dose is scheduled for March 23, with PIMS confirming discharge alongside follow-up advice and prescriptions.

CRVO—a severe condition typically affecting older adults, linked to hypertension, high cholesterol, diabetes, or cardiac issues—has become a flashpoint between government and opposition. Khan's lawyer and Supreme Court amicus curiae Barrister Salman Safdar submitted reports detailing grave vision impairment, fueling partisan disputes.
