Gangtok/New Delhi, 08 November (H.S.): Defence Minister Rajnath Singh visited Sherathang, a forward area along the India-China border in Sikkim, on Sunday to mark the occasion of Diwali.

According to the District Information Officer, Pakyong, Singh will pay tribute at the Sherathang War Memorial to the brave soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice in the service of the nation. He will also meet and interact with security personnel deployed in the border region.

It may be recalled that, on the first day of his visit on Saturday (November 7), Defence Minister Rajnath Singh met officers and personnel of the Indian Air Force at the Bagdogra Air Force Station in West Bengal. During the visit, he also interacted with Indian Army personnel at Sukna in Siliguri.
