New Delhi, 07 November (H.S.): Weather conditions across several parts of the country have undergone significant changes, with cold weather and fog becoming increasingly prominent in northern India, while heavy rainfall warnings have been issued for parts of the south. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast morning fog across Delhi-NCR over the next three days, along with rain and thunderstorms in several regions during the coming week.
According to the IMD, Delhi-NCR is likely to experience light to moderate fog during the morning hours from November 8 to 10. During this period, maximum temperatures are expected to range between 26 and 30 degrees Celsius, while minimum temperatures are likely to remain between 13 and 16 degrees Celsius.
Additionally, the influence of a western disturbance between November 11 and 13 may bring isolated rainfall to parts of Delhi, Haryana and Punjab.
Meanwhile, rainfall activity is expected to continue across southern peninsular India under the influence of a cyclonic circulation prevailing in the lower atmospheric levels. The IMD has forecast heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds reaching speeds of 30-50 kmph in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal between November 8 and 10. Kerala and Mahe are also likely to receive heavy rainfall on November 8.
The weather is expected to change across the north-western Himalayan region following the arrival of another western disturbance from November 10. Between November 10 and 13, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand are likely to experience rainfall and thunderstorms. The Kashmir Valley, in particular, may witness isolated spells of heavy rainfall or snowfall on November 12.
The Andaman and Nicobar Islands are also likely to experience widespread rainfall between November 8 and 13, with heavy showers expected at isolated locations from November 9 to 13.
In addition, parts of the Northeast are likely to receive heavy rainfall on November 10 and 11. The affected states include Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.
The IMD has advised people to remain alert to changing weather conditions, particularly in regions expected to experience heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and strong winds.
