New Delhi, 07 November (H.S.): Delhi BJP President Harsh Malhotra has welcomed the Delhi High Court's order directing the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to take down objectionable videos circulated on social media platforms concerning Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.
Speaking on Saturday, Malhotra said that by creating and circulating such videos, the AAP had insulted not only the Chief Minister but also all women of Delhi. He alleged that the conduct of AAP leaders towards women had been under scrutiny in the past as well, adding that the creation of such a video depicting the Chief Minister reflected the party's attitude towards women's dignity and respect.
Malhotra demanded that, in compliance with the High Court's order, the AAP immediately remove the videos in question from all social media platforms and apologise to Chief Minister Rekha Gupta as well as the women of Delhi.
It may be recalled that the Delhi High Court on Friday directed the AAP to remove AI-generated videos and posts shared through its official accounts on social media platforms X and Facebook.
Justice Manoj Jain observed that the content had falsely portrayed the Chief Minister as a liquor seller. The High Court noted that such material could seriously undermine the personal dignity and moral character of the Chief Minister, both in her capacity as the head of the government and as a woman.
