Lucknow, Nov 06 (HS): Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath

distributed appointment letters to 4,543 candidates selected for the Uttar

Pradesh Police Force in Lucknow on Friday, following a fair and transparent

recruitment process. On this occasion, he stated unequivocally that nepotism

will no longer be tolerated in Uttar Pradesh. The state's 25 crore people are

our family, and the government will treat everyone equally. There will be no

discrimination in the recruitment process. Every youth of the state will

receive opportunities based on their qualifications and merit.

The Chief Minister launched a scathing attack on previous

governments. He said that previously, the recruitment process in Uttar Pradesh

was such that someone would apply, someone else would take the exam, and

someone else would receive the appointment letter. The Saifai Syndicate held

sway over recruitment. Our government has ended that system and established a

transparent selection process.

The Chief Minister, speaking directly to the newly selected

candidates, asked three questions: Did any of you have to seek a

recommendation for your selection? Did anyone exchange any kind of money with

you or offer you money? Did anyone use force to obtain an appointment letter,

something unimaginable in Uttar Pradesh today?

The Chief Minister said that if the double-engine government

had not come to power in the state, a transparent and honest recruitment

process would have been a pipe dream. Between 2003 and 2017, numerous such

appointments occurred in which someone applied, someone else took the exam, and

a third party received the job. Many such cases are still pending in the

courts. The concern is that if, years later, the court orders the cancellation

of such appointments, what will happen to the young people who have served for

so many years? The dishonest people who played with the lives of young people

then should have their entire property confiscated. We had decided in 2017 that

the entire selection process would be transparent and there would be no

nepotism or discrimination. The 25 crore citizens of the state are our family.

Today, the youth of Ambedkar Nagar, Ghazipur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Deoria,

Bhadohi, Sonbhadra, Chitrakoot, Jalaun, Saharanpur, and Hamirpur are also

getting equal opportunities.

The Chief Minister stated that in the last nine and a half

years, 2.30 lakh police officers and personnel have been recruited

transparently in the Uttar Pradesh Police Force alone. The number of government

recruitments in various departments has exceeded 9.5 lakh. Even in the 14 years

between 2003 and 2017, there were not as many recruitments as the current

government has done in just nine and a half years.

The Chief Minister, while chronologically mentioning the

recent appointment letter distribution programs, said that on August 25,

appointment letters were given to 3,572 officers of the Agriculture Department.

On September 19, appointment letters were given to 818 personnel of the AYUSH,

Medical Health and Horticulture Departments, on September 20, 912 candidates of

the Police Department, on September 22, 3,567 candidates of the Education

Department, and on September 28, 1,375 personnel of the Panchayati Raj

Department. On October 8, 470 meritorious sportspersons selected through the

Police Recruitment and Promotion Board were appointed in the Uttar Pradesh

Police. On November 5, appointment letters were given to 28 forensic

scientists, and now appointment letters are being distributed to 4,543 newly

selected sub-inspectors.

The government had pledged to give appointment letters to

one lakh youth in six months. They keep counting; we will go on distributing

appointment letters. After Diwali, on the day after Bhaiya Dooj, appointment

letters will be given to more than 1,200 candidates of the Revenue Department. Apart

from this, the recruitment process for 42,000 Home Guards has been completed.

The recruitment process for 32,000 constables and head constables in Uttar

Pradesh Police has also been completed, verification work is going on. Time has

been sought for distribution of appointment letters of about 25,000 teachers.

Some appointment letters will be distributed when we arrive for the third time.

The government's goal is to provide employment to maximum youth through a

transparent process.

The Chief Minister stated that issuing appointment letters

is not a matter of the government's compassion or favor, but rather a duty.

Nine or ten years ago, Uttar Pradesh had lost its identity. People were

intimidated by the name of the state. Young people from Uttar Pradesh, who had

secured jobs in other states through hard work and talent, faced difficulty

even renting a room. Curfews, riots, and anarchy were common in the state.

Despite having the country's largest population, the largest young workforce, fertile

land, and abundant natural resources, Uttar Pradesh's economy and

infrastructure were extremely weak. The state was among the five states with

the weakest economies in the country. When the government came to power in

2017, resources were scarce even to pay employees. At that time, the number of

employees was approximately half what it is today, yet salaries were still

difficult to pay. Today, the government has the capacity to pay employees even

after they have been laid off for up to a year, if necessary.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath distributed appointment

letters to 4,543 newly selected candidates for the post of Sub-Inspector

(Civil) Police and equivalent posts on the stage. On this occasion, appointment

letters were given to Anshu Gangwar (Shahjahanpur), Abhay Yadav (Sant Ravidas

Nagar), Ravi Pratap Kushwaha (Deoria), Prachi Savita, Sakshi Gond (Ballia),

Ranjeet Kharwar (Ghazipur), Abhishek Kumar Pal (Gorakhpur), Anoop Kumar Maurya

(Jaunpur), Azharuddin Khan (Hamirpur), Nilay Mishra (Sant Kabir Nagar), Farhat

Jahan (Saharanpur), Shweta Bhadoria (Agra), Ashutosh Rai (Ghazipur), Amit Kumar

Dubey (Jaunpur) and Mayank Shakya (Kanpur Nagar). The Chief Minister

congratulated all the newly selected candidates and wished them a bright

future.
