Mrittika-2026’ Terracotta Exhibition

Bhubaneswar, 06 November (H.S.): In view of the enthusiastic public response, growing demand and the upcoming Diwali festival, the duration of the annual terracotta exhibition ‘Mrittika-2026’ has been extended by one day. The exhibition, which was earlier scheduled to conclude on November 6, will now remain open till November 7.

The exhibition commenced on October 31 at the local Exhibition Ground. State Cooperation, Handlooms, Textiles and Handicrafts Minister Pradeep Bal Samanta inaugurated the event.

According to information provided by the department, the exhibition had recorded business worth nearly Rs 3 crore till Thursday. A wide range of attractive handcrafted products made by terracotta artisans and potters has been drawing considerable interest from visitors.

The exhibition features an extensive collection of artistic and utility items made of clay, showcasing the traditional craftsmanship and creativity of Odisha's artisans. The demand for these products during the Diwali season has also contributed to the decision to extend the event.

The extension will provide visitors an additional day to purchase their preferred terracotta products while offering artisans and potters from across the State more opportunities to display and sell their creations. The initiative is also expected to promote Odisha's traditional pottery and terracotta craft and support the livelihoods of local artisans.
