Mumbai, 06 November (H.S.): Actor Salman Khan has announced that his upcoming film, ‘Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace’, will be released in theatres on December 4. The announcement was made on Friday during the film’s trailer launch event in Mumbai. On the occasion, Khan also dismissed reports claiming that the government had exerted pressure on the filmmakers to alter the script, describing allegations that they had been asked to rewrite it as completely false.

Speaking about the film’s storyline, Salman said it portrays not only the experiences and struggles of soldiers but also the challenges faced by their families. The narrative seeks to explore the circumstances and difficulties encountered by soldiers on both sides. According to the actor, rather than portraying either side negatively, the film focuses on the difficult situations in which soldiers are compelled to make choices between their national duty and personal relationships. He emphasised that for members of the armed forces, the nation always comes first.

Addressing the delay in the film’s release, Salman remarked in his trademark witty style, “This time, I am not late; the VFX is late.” The film was initially scheduled to hit theatres in April 2026.

Responding to questions surrounding the song ‘Teri Sexy Beauty’, which has drawn attention and sparked discussions, the actor said audiences would understand its relevance to the storyline after watching the film. He also revealed that the film contains very few visual sequences during its songs.

Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, the film features Salman Khan alongside Chitrangda Singh in a prominent role.
