Srinagar, Nov 06 (HS): Jammu and Kashmir Police in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Friday organised a one-day mental health awareness camp for women police personnel, with experts urging them to recognise early signs of stress and seek timely help.
The camp was held at the District Police Lines (DPL) in collaboration with the Department of Psychiatry, District Hospital Ganderbal. It was meant to make women personnel aware of the importance of mental health, emotional well-being and stress management in both their professional and personal lives.
Experts from the Department of Psychiatry spoke about various aspects of mental health and said stress, anxiety and other concerns should be identified early. They also explained coping strategies, ways to maintain emotional balance, and the importance of consulting a professional whenever required.
Women personnel interacted with the doctors during the programme and discussed their mental health-related concerns.
A police spokesperson said the initiative was part of efforts to promote well-being and a healthy working environment in the force. He said Ganderbal Police would continue to hold such programmes for its personnel.
