New Delhi, 06 November (H.S.): The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) Medical College and Hospital in Faridabad has achieved a significant milestone in ophthalmic treatment and surgical care by successfully performing a corneal transplant.

The hospital successfully conducted a penetrating keratoplasty procedure on October 27, commonly known as a corneal transplant. The surgery marks an important achievement in the institution’s efforts to strengthen its specialised ophthalmic services. The procedure was performed on a 46-year-old patient who had been experiencing impaired vision due to corneal opacity.

The complex surgery was successfully carried out by Dr. S. R. Singh, Medical Superintendent (Ophthalmic Surgeon), and his team.

The achievement marks an important step towards strengthening specialised clinical services and providing advanced healthcare facilities to ESIC beneficiaries. The institution has acknowledged the dedicated efforts, clinical expertise and outstanding work of the ophthalmology team in accomplishing this milestone.
